Actor Jo Aram portrayed a more solid growth overcoming past wounds and a hidden heart toward Seo Kang-jun, drawing a three-dimensional, deepened emotional line.
Jo Aram acted as Park Su-a, an employee in the TF Snack 3 team at Hunmin Bakery, in episodes 5 and 6 of the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries A Love Other Than Yours (directed by Hwang Seung-gi·Lee Ga-ram, written by Yoo Su-ji, produced by UNI CHEM), which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m.
In this broadcast, Jo Aram showed an even wider spectrum that added to her previously sharp and confident professional persona the overcoming of painful past experiences and subtle emotional changes toward Namgung-ho (played by Seo Kang-jun).
In the drama, Park Su-a unexpectedly reunited with classmates who had tormented her in the past at a jjimjilbang. When Namgung-ho stepped in for her, Park Su-a did not avoid it but took a step forward herself, confronting them confidently and proving a strong side that lightly overcame past trauma.
Meanwhile, after hearing that Namgung-ho had applied for a Paris posting, Park Su-a learned that the reason behind it was his girlfriend’s bucket list and was swept up in complicated emotions. Nevertheless, she energetically offered to help him prepare for the interview, but when she hit the practical wall that skills and experience alone could not overcome, she finally burst into tears she had been holding back. It was a moment that honestly revealed her sincere desire to think of and help Namgung-ho.
Jo Aram completed the character’s solidity with a resolute expression and confident attitude when facing past wounds, and in front of Namgung-ho she delicately expressed a complex inner life with subtle wavering in her eyes and faint reactions. In particular, the dramatic performance of suppressing emotion and then suddenly breaking into tears in the face of a practical wall moved viewers’ hearts.
From her confident, sharp appearance to the sincerity revealed in tears, Jo Aram, who is completing the character Park Su-a more three-dimensionally with varied charms, raises expectations about what further changes she will bring to her relationship with Seo Kang-jun.
