Direct Communications first reported seeing issues with its services on Thursday saying network instability was impacting customers. Engineers tracked the issue to unusually high traffic on the company’s network consistent with a distributed denial-of-service, or DDoS, attack.
The attack affected the company’s upstream network providers, causing slow speeds, packet loss and complete service outages.
For several days, Direct Communications worked to implement stability fixes to its network.
