The City of Sacramento’s Office of Nighttime Economy is inviting local hospitality and nightlife businesses to attend the next “Taking Care of Business” workshop, which will focus on marketing and social media.
The free workshop will take place from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at 300 Richards Blvd., Room 221. Free parking is available on site.
The session will feature Wendy Aguilar, media and communications specialist with the Sacramento Fire Department, who will share practical strategies for building a brand, creating content and using social media to connect with customers. Aguilar was recognized with the <a href="https://www.governmentsocialmedia.com/golden-post-awards-winners-and-finalists-2026” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>2026 Social Media Leadership Award for her innovative social media strategies, creative campaigns, and leadership in digital communications.
Topics will include improving social media strategies, reaching new customers and updating a business’s overall marketing approach.
“Strong marketing and meaningful community engagement can help businesses reach customers and build lasting relationships,” said Nighttime Economy Manager Tina Lee-Vogt. “This workshop will provide participants with practical tools they can use to strengthen their presence and grow their business.”
The Office of Nighttime Economy launched the “Taking Care of Business” program earlier this year to provide hospitality and nightlife businesses with training, resources and opportunities to learn from industry professionals and City staff. Businesses can receive personalized support, guidance and connections to City resources through the City’s Business Solutions Center.
Space is limited so advance registration is encouraged. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided.
The Office of Nighttime Economy offers various training sessions to provide hospitality and nighttime businesses with information and resources to support safe and successful operations. More information about upcoming trainings is available on the City’s website.
