OpenAssets brings its “markets-in-a-box” platform to Canton helping institutions issue and manage their own tokenized assets through Digital Asset’s DA Registry.
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — OpenAssets, a leading digital asset infrastructure provider, today announced a collaboration with Digital Asset, the creator of Canton Network, to bring new tokenization use cases to Canton.
OpenAssets will make its “markets-in-a-box” platform available to institutions on Canton. It will serve as an implementation partner for DA Registry, Digital Asset’s tokenization engine, which provides the fastest way to launch, distribute, and monetize compliant digital assets across the network.
OpenAssets provides institutions with the infrastructure and operating system to build, operate and scale modern financial markets. The company’s adaptable “markets-in-a-box” platform brings together tokenized asset issuance, settlement, compliance, asset management and distribution within a unified technology stack.
For institutions using OpenAssets’ platform, DA Registry adds issuance controls such as allowlists, blocklists, and transfer approvals connected to external KYC and AML monitoring providers. On Canton, only the parties involved can see transactions, and assets can participate in atomic settlement, collateral management, and cross-application lending across the network.
OpenAssets’ network includes ICE, the world’s largest exchange; AWS, the world’s largest cloud provider; Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin issuer; and Itaú, Latin America’s largest financial institution, along with KraneShares and many other leading institutions. The Canton Network’s participants include Goldman Sachs, DTCC, BNP Paribas, and Deutsche Börse.
“Tokenization only delivers meaningful market efficiencies when assets can move securely and privately across institutions, applications and settlement systems,” said Gabor Gurbacs, Chairman and CEO of OpenAssets. “Combining OpenAssets’ institutional infrastructure and distribution with Digital Asset’s technology and Canton’s configurable privacy and atomic settlement capabilities creates a practical foundation for interoperable, compliant and scalable capital markets.”
“DA Registry has already enabled more than 30 issuers and tokenization platforms to quickly and securely issue, manage and monetize institutional-grade tokenized assets and cash on Canton. Adding OpenAssets’ production-ready platform to Canton will build on that momentum and help bring even more issuers to the network,” said Bernhard Elsner, Chief Product Officer at Digital Asset.
OpenAssets builds infrastructure for digital financial systems. Through shared standards and purpose-built technology for real-world asset tokenization and sovereign digital currency, the company works with institutions, governments, and technology companies to modernize capital markets infrastructure. OpenAssets is developing and contributing the open standards for tokenization in collaboration with the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust. Learn more at openassets.to.
