The Atlanta City Council approved adding more than $55 million in additional investments in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for a variety of projects.
According to council documents, the projects receiving portions of the funding include work on Concourses A and B, the Central Passenger Terminal Complex Fire Life Safety Enhancement Projects and inspections for perimeter gates and airport exits.
Part of the funding is also going toward renewal and extension costs for the airport budget.
The move to provide more investments follows the news that the nearly five dozen construction projects underway at the airport are costing as much as $3.3 million per day.
