More than 55,250 tattoo numbing wipes sold nationwide on Amazon and Shopify are being recalled for posing “serious injury or death” risks to children.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for Diamond Wipes International on Aug. 27, 2026, after determining its MD Wipe Outz Numbing Tattoo Wipes violate federal poison packaging safety standards.
“The recalled numbing wipes contain lidocaine, which must be in child-resistant packaging, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act,” the agency wrote.
“The packaging of the wipes is not child-resistant, posing a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if the contents of the wipes are ingested by young children.”
Roughly 55,250 units sold in individually wrapped 3-by-4 inch foil packets are included in the recall.
The products, packaged in boxes of 5, 10, 25 and 250, feature the Wipe Outz logo with the words “NUMB” and “Lidocaine Infused” printed on the front.
The wipes were sold online through Amazon from September 2025 through June 2026, and through Shopify from September 2025 through May 2026. Retail prices ranged from about $7.50 to $225.
No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled products.
Consumers are urged to immediately move the wipes away from children and to contact the manufacturer, Diamond Wipes International, Inc., for a full refund.
To receive a refund, buyers must write the word “RECALLED” on the packet, photograph the marked packaging and email the image to recall@diamondwipes.com before disposing of the items.
