Russian e-commerce giant Ozon said four of its logistics hubs in southern Russia were targeted by Ukrainian drones on Monday, as Kyiv expanded a campaign aimed at disrupting Moscow’s commercial supply networks.
Ukraine’s campaign to target Russia’s e-commerce giant Wildberries has had impacts far beyond the Russian federation. For Russia, Wildberries is comparable to Amazon, accounting for about 50% of the country’s online retail market. But its market place is used by manufacturers as far afield as Central Asia.
Russia’s largest e-commerce companies have appealed to the government for non-refundable federal financial aid to compensate sellers for catastrophic losses caused by Ukrainian drone attacks, The Moscow Times reported on August 14.
Wildberries will let sellers on its marketplace insure goods against damage or loss from terrorist attacks, sabotage, and drone strikes — along with their aftermath — starting August 7, 2026.
