GnuCash is a free, open-reelancers keep accounting records and run reports. But it’s not the best free accounting solution out there. It requires a good deal of manual data entry and has an outdated interface. Most small businesses will fare better with a more automated, cloud-based alternative (even if you have to pay for it)
