Amway Corp. is accusing a Florida business of selling Amway trademarked products on Amazon without permission in a new lawsuit.
Bregener Store LLC. and Jean Bregener Louis—the apparent sole operator of the Florida-based business Bregener Store—are being accused of selling trademarked products said to include Amway, Artistry and Glister.
Court documents filed in the United States District Court’s Western District of Michigan on Sept. 2 specifically cite Bregener’s sale of Glister toothpaste through Amazon.
Amway legal representatives claim Bregner’s sales of these products both impact Amway’s bottom line and reputation.
“Consumers who purchase from unauthorized sellers on online <a href="https://bitcomme.com/tiktok-shop-adds-big-names-like-best-buy-in-push-to-become-a-mainstream-marketplace/” title=”TikTok Shop adds big names like Best Buy in push to become a mainstream marketplace”>marketplaces frequently receive poor quality products or customer service and leave negative reviews on product listings,” Amway argues in court documents. “These negative reviews injure consumer perceptions of a brand’s quality and reputation, ultimately causing the brand to suffer damage to its goodwill and lost sales.”
Amway is seeking a jury trial for damages of “an amount to be determined at trial.”
The documents go on to say that Bregener had been notified of perceived infringement nearly a year prior yet continued to sell products.
Starting in September of 2025 through March 30, 2026, Amway claims to have sent multiple cease-and-desist letters to Bregener. None of those letters were apparently acknowledged by Bregener.
Amway was founded by West Michigan moguls Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel in 1959 as a direct selling company.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation reported in 2024 that Amway has more than 14,000 employees worldwide, with over 3,000 of those based in Michigan.
