<a href="https://www.bankofamerica.com/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Bank of America is using AI to give corporate treasury teams greater visibility into payment performance, cross-border activity and working capital through a new analytics tool within its CashPro platform.
The bank’s Payments Insights capability is designed to help corporate and commercial clients identify where their payment processes may be underperforming and compare their results against industry benchmarks based on the bank’s own peer data.
Payments Insights forms part of CashPro Data Intelligence, Bank of America’s suite of AI-powered analytics tools for treasury functions. The tool covers clients’ US accounts and uses dynamic visualisations to highlight trends and areas that may warrant closer attention.
The platform can provide insights into payment efficiency, international payment flows and working-capital outcomes, with the aim of helping treasury teams assess payment methods, cross-border transactions and currency choices.
The new capability was developed with input from Bank of America’s clients through its CashPro Boards. The advisory groups represent different client segments and regions and provide feedback that informs platform development, investment priorities and the user experience.
The scale of the bank’s payments operation provides a significant data pool for the initiative. CashPro processed 213m payments during the first half of 2026, representing a 10% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Bank of America said greater visibility across payment activity could help companies identify opportunities to improve payment efficiency and working-capital management, particularly across international transactions and currency selection.
Payments Insights joins several other capabilities within CashPro Data Intelligence, including Capital Markets Insights, Mobile Security Insights, CashPro Forecasting and CashPro Search.
Capital Markets Insights, which launched in the CashPro App in 2025, is due to move online next month. Security Insights is also set to expand globally to CashPro programme administrators in 2027, providing security scores across company, user and account settings and recommending measures to reduce fraud and account compromise risks.
The Data Intelligence suite received the 2025 Datos Impact Award for Best Innovation in Artificial Intelligence, while Capital Markets Insights has received several awards in 2026, including American Banker’s Innovation of the Year. CashPro has received 37 awards over the past three years.
Bank of America head of CashPro Personalized Technologies in Global Payments Solutions Jennifer Sanctis said, “Corporate treasury teams are managing enormous volumes of payments and foreign exchange data, but that data only creates value when it is organized and delivered in a way that supports action. Payments Insights will help finance teams cut through complexity and focus on the decisions that matter most.”
Allegis Group director of treasury Laura Fox, a member of the US CashPro Board added “The future of treasury isn’t just about having access to more data—it’s about quickly understanding what the data means and how to act on it. Payments Insights helps us see patterns and trends, giving our teams greater visibility to make more informed, strategic decisions.”
Bank of America co-head of global corporate sales in GPS Jay Davenport also commented, “At that scale, even incremental improvements in how a company makes payments can deliver meaningful benefits. By helping clients identify more efficient payment methods and optimize cross-border and currency choices, Payments Insights can support stronger working-capital outcomes.”
