The launch of the new Same-Day Delivery service in the region is made possible by the recent opening of a Same-Day fulfilment center, located in Waddinxveen and operated by logistics provider Dragonfly.

The improvement is a direct result of Amazon’s investment of more than €1.4 billion in the Netherlands for the period 2025-2027. Prime members can enjoy free Same-Day deliveries on orders above €20, while non-Prime members can access the service with a delivery fee of €4.99.
Amazon investment translating into tangible benefits for Dutch customers
The investment of more than €1.4 billion, announced in October 2025, focuses on improving the customer experience, expanding logistics infrastructure, and strengthening Amazon’s presence in the Netherlands. The opening of the Same-Day fulfilment center in Waddinxveen and the launch of the new Same-Day Delivery service are among the first visible results of this commitment.
The new fulfillment center, operated by logistics provider Dragonfly, provides customers in the Randstad with access to a selection of over 25,000 products with Dame-day delivery on orders placed as late as 15:00h, Amazon’s latest-ever cut-off time in the Netherlands. Hundreds of thousands of products are available for same-day delivery on eligible orders placed in the morning. Deliveries arrive between 18:00h and 22:00h.

Dutch customers now have access to one of the most comprehensive same-day delivery offerings in the country. Amazon.nl’s Same-Day Delivery is designed around what matters most to customers; speed, selection, and reliability:
- Selection: over 25,000 products available for same-day delivery (hundreds of thousands when ordered in the morning)
- Convenience: Order as late as 15:00h and still receive your package the same day
This launch reflects Amazon’s continued investment in the Dutch customer experience, making everyday shopping faster and more convenient than ever.
Employment and economic impact
Amazon counts over one thousand employees in the Netherlands in 2026, working across corporate and operational sites. The new fulfillment center in Waddinxveen will contribute to local employment in the Zuid-Holland region with new jobs. Amazon works with local delivery service providers and supports thousands of Dutch selling partners who offer their products to customers in the Netherlands and beyond

The future of Amazon Same-Day Delivery in the Netherlands
Amazon plans to further expand the new Same-Day Delivery service to other regions in the Netherlands throughout 2027/2028. The investment of more than €1.4 billion additionally supports improvements in product selection, the selling partner experience, and the overall customer experience on amazon.nl.
