Miss. (WLBT) – Early holiday shopping has arrived in the capital city as the three-day Holiday Market of Jackson returns to the Mississippi Trade Mart this weekend
The event, running Friday through Sunday, features more than 125 merchants from across the country offering gifts, home and holiday decor, boutique apparel, jewelry, gourmet food, and fall fashion trends.
This year’s market carries special significance for vendors and organizers following the cancellation of the Spring Market due to a fire at the Trade Mart in March.
“The cancellation of Spring Market was devastating for so many of our merchants,” said Kristi Rowan, promoter of Holiday Market of Jackson. “We plan for these events all year, and to see merchants lose product and merchandise was heartbreaking. But everyone has regrouped, the Trade Mart is cleaned up and ready, and we are excited to be back for Holiday Market.”
Rowan noted that additional security measures have been implemented for the weekend, including officers patrolling the parking lots in golf carts and Capitol Police monitoring facility entrances.
Along with standard shopping hours, the market includes two special ticketed events:
- Margaritas & Mistletoe: Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (includes wine, margaritas, a souvenir cup, a complimentary tote, photo booth access, and Friday general admission).
- Muffins & Mimosas: Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon (includes mimosas, a muffin, a souvenir cup, a complimentary tote, photo booth access, and Saturday general admission).
Advance ticket buyers for either specialty event will also receive a free market tote at the door.

- Friday, Sept. 18: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 19: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 20: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Admission: $10 for a single-day pass; $20 for a three-day weekend pass. Children 12 and under enter free.
- Payment: Tickets can be purchased online in advance through TicketSpice or at the entrance. Tickets purchased at the door are cash only.
