Sunrise Business is expanding its existing portfolio for SMEs with the bundled offer “SME Ready Insurance”, enabling its customers to be even better protected in the digital environment.

The new offer includes Internet services, cloud-based cybersecurity solutions, as well as the two insurance products “Business Legal Insurance” and “Business Cyber Insurance”.

“Business Legal Insurance” provides SMEs with insurance coverage in the event of disputes in the digital field, while “Business Cyber Insurance” helps them deal with a cyberattack and its consequences. These two insurance products are offered in partnership with AXA and AXA-ARAG.

Thanks to SME Ready Insurance, SMEs have more time to focus on their core business, with the certainty that they are well covered when needed and can receive rapid assistance at any time.

The number of cyber incidents stabilised at a high level in the second half of 2025 compared with the same period of the previous year.¹ SMEs are not spared from cyberattacks, as shown by an AXA study. According to this study, one in six SMEs surveyed has been the victim of a cyberattack in the past five years.² In addition, even in the digital environment, SMEs are not immune to legal disputes, such as the misuse of credit cards. Even with the most modern cybersecurity solutions, cyber risks and the consequences of attacks can never be completely ruled out. This is why a comprehensive approach is essential: prevention through effective security solutions and coverage of potential consequences through insurance.

An internal survey conducted by Sunrise Business among its business customers reveals that currently only around one in ten Swiss SMEs has cyber insurance. This is despite an AXA study showing that over the past five years, 16% of surveyed companies have already been victims of at least one cyberattack. Furthermore, 50% expect to face high costs to restore IT security in the event of a successful attack.² This is precisely where Sunrise Business steps in with its new “SME Ready Insurance” offer: in addition to high-speed Internet of up to 2.5 Gbit/s and the cloud-based Cisco Umbrella cybersecurity solution, it also includes insurance coverage for the digital environment. Sunrise Business is the only provider offering this combination of services to SMEs — as a bundled solution for a worry-free business routine and enhanced security.

The insurance coverage includes two separate insurance products: “Business Legal Insurance” and “Business Cyber Insurance”. These products are offered in collaboration with AXA Insurance Ltd, Switzerland’s largest property and casualty insurer, and its subsidiary AXA-ARAG Legal Protection Ltd.

Business Legal Insurance is legal protection insurance designed for SMEs, providing assistance in the event of disputes in the digital field. Examples include violations of personal rights on the Internet, fraudulent use of credit cards or identity theft, contractual disputes, or disputes relating to Internet domain names. In such cases, the insurance provides comprehensive legal assistance, including legal advice, assessment and enforcement of compensation claims, as well as the initiation and management of legal proceedings.

Business Cyber Insurance, meanwhile, covers the direct consequences of a cyberattack. Thanks to the 24/7 hotline, SMEs receive emergency assistance from cybersecurity specialists and support with damage recovery, crisis management, and future prevention. The insurance covers, among other things, costs related to malware removal, restoration of data and systems, crisis communication support, as well as possible data protection breaches or liability-related damages. If a cyberattack causes an interruption to business operations, SMEs receive financial support to compensate for the resulting loss of revenue. This also applies to any additional costs incurred to ensure business continuity.

SME Ready Insurance is available in three packages: either as a bundle including Internet, cybersecurity, and one of the two insurance products, or with both insurance products included. Sunrise Business and AXA have deliberately simplified access to this offer: SMEs can obtain the complete bundled solutions directly from Sunrise Business. To determine eligibility, customers only need to answer five questions. The bundles have clearly defined and transparently displayed prices and are easy to set up. This offer is aimed at companies with up to 50 employees and annual revenue not exceeding CHF 5 million.

Thorsten Haeser, Chief Business Officer at Sunrise

SMEs can only protect themselves against these risks by relying on solutions that effectively address the risks of everyday digital life while also being easy to implement. With SME Ready Insurance, we are the only telecommunications operator in Switzerland offering a standardised solution that combines connectivity and cybersecurity with insurance coverage in a complete “Plug and Work” solution.
