Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – With teachers returning to Springfield schools on Friday, city officials said on Thursday night that they are making progress in the wake of the cybersecurity incident
Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sonia Dinall addressed that teachers know how to teach whether with a computer or with pencil and paper.
The group, Mayor Sarno calling them ‘Hackeds’, said that the group that initiated this attack “very sophisticated”, and that state and federal agencies are continuing investigating.
The phone lines are expected to back up and running for Monday when students return to school, and officials said it specialists are making progress in restoring computer systems.
The school calendar will also be updated, but no days won’t be added to the end of the school year, and the school committee will revise the schedule.
Members of the school committee just started another emergency special meeting here at city hall, an executive session just like the one they held Wednesday.
