Convergint has acquired Surveillance Systems Incorporated (SSI), a provider of integrated surveillance and security solutions for the gaming industry, marking Convergint’s entry into the gaming security market.
The acquisition gives Convergint an established presence in a specialized and regulated market while adding SSI’s experience working with gaming operators and complex surveillance environments.
Las Vegas-based SSI brings more than two decades of experience in the gaming sector, along with customer relationships and expertise in surveillance and integrated security. Convergint said it plans to combine that market knowledge with its broader systems integration capabilities, service organization and global resources.
“Gaming represents a significant growth opportunity for Convergint, and SSI provides the expertise, relationships, and market knowledge to establish a strong foundation in this market,” said Sean Flint, president of Convergint.
Flint said the companies see an opportunity to build a gaming-focused practice by combining SSI’s existing capabilities with Convergint’s scale and resources, supporting growth in North America and internationally.
SSI customers are expected to gain access to Convergint’s broader service organization and global capabilities. Convergint, meanwhile, will add SSI’s experience addressing surveillance and integrated security requirements within gaming environments.
“For more than two decades, SSI has built its reputation on a simple principle: deliver the best possible customer experience,” said SSI President and CEO Todd Flowers. “As we looked toward the future, it was essential to find a partner whose culture and values aligned with our own. We found that in Convergint.”
The transaction is part of Convergint’s strategy of combining organic growth with acquisitions that add specialized expertise and expand the industries and geographic markets it serves.
Headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Convergint provides security and fire and life safety services from more than 200 locations worldwide. The company has more than 11,000 employees and serves customers in critical infrastructure, data centers, financial institutions, healthcare and the public sector.
