Triona O’Keeffe, NatWest Chief Data and Analytics Officer
NatWest Group has named Triona O’Keeffe Chief Data and Analytics Officer. She will join the bank in January 2027, reporting to Group CIO Scott Marcar.
In the newly expanded role, O’Keeffe will lead the integration of NatWest’s bank-wide engineering with its data and AI capabilities. The move is designed to create clearer accountability and help the bank move more efficiently from insights to delivery, supporting personalized products and stronger customer relationships at scale.
O’Keeffe currently serves as CIO for Data & Analytics at London Stock Exchange Group. She previously held CIO roles at Direct Line Group and senior leadership positions at Deutsche Bank, bringing global experience across data, technology, and AI to her new role.
Commenting on the appointment, Marcar said, “Triona brings a depth of expertise across technology and financial services, which will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our technology foundations and scale our use of data and AI to improve experiences for customers and colleagues.”
In a LinkedInpostsharing her thoughts on the move, O’Keeffe said, “I’m excited to join NatWest at such a pivotal time and help unlock the full potential of data, AI and engineering for customers. With the bank’s strong customer focus, vital role in the UK economy, and ambitious transformation agenda, I’m excited to join such a talented and ambitious team led by Scott Marcar.”
The appointment comes as NatWest continues to expand its use of technology, data, and AI across the bank, including a new AI and Data Ethics accreditation for colleagues, broader deployment of generative and agentic AI tools, and continued development of AI-enabled virtual assistants such as Cora.
