OneOncology is partnering with OpenEvidence to integrate the company’s artificial intelligence-based medical search and clinical decision-support technology into applications used by physicians across its network.
The agreement will give physicians at OneOncology partner practices access to OpenEvidence for clinical evidence retrieval, reference, and research, without leaving certain clinical workflows. The companies announced the partnership Thursday.
The Nashville, Tennessee-based OneOncology supports independent specialty practices that collectively provide care to about 1.5 million patients nationwide. OpenEvidence, based in Miami, provides an AI-powered platform that physicians can use to search medical literature and other clinical information.

The companies said they plan to expand the partnership over time, including potential integrations with OneOncology’s structured genomic data and clinical trial matching systems. Such integrations could allow physicians to access medical evidence alongside genomic information and information about relevant research studies at the point of care.
The partnership comes as oncology practices contend with a growing volume of clinical evidence, new therapies and biomarker-driven treatment options. More than half of U.S. cancer patients receive treatment through community oncology practices, according to the Community Oncology Alliance.
“Integrating OpenEvidence directly into my workflow will make it easier to access the information I need at the point of care,” said Emily Z. Touloukian, DO, FASCO, president and CEO of Coastal Cancer Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
OpenEvidence said more than half of U.S. hematology and oncology physicians already use its platform to help inform clinical decisions. The companies did not disclose financial terms of the agreement or provide a timeline for the planned genomic data and clinical trial integrations.
