ZOLL Medical Corp. agreed to a $3.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims that it failed to prevent a 2023 data breach that compromised sensitive consumer information.
The ZOLL Medical settlement benefits consumers who received a data breach notice from ZOLL Medical Corp. informing them that their information may have been compromised in a January 2023 data security incident.
According to the ZOLL Medical data breach class action lawsuit, ZOLL failed to prevent a 2023 data breach that compromised sensitive consumer information. The breach allegedly occurred due to ZOLL’s failure to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures.
ZOLL Medical Corp. is a medical technology company that provides emergency care solutions, including resuscitation and critical care devices.
ZOLL Medical has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $3.5 million class action settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the ZOLL Medical settlement, class members can receive up to $5,000 for out-of-pocket expenses related to the data breach. This includes expenses such as identity theft costs, credit expenses, miscellaneous charges and mitigation expenses. Class members must provide documentation of these expenses to receive reimbursement.
Class members can also receive a cash payment from the settlement. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement.
Class members whose Social Security numbers were potentially compromised in the ZOLL Medical data breach can receive a pro rata payment of $100. Class members whose Social Security numbers were not compromised in the data breach can receive a pro rata payment of $50.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 3, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the ZOLL Medical class action settlement is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 2, 2026.
