In “A Different Romance Than You,” Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin ultimately parted ways. Their 10-year relationship, which had protected each other, and their one-month different romance came to a close as they embarked on separate journeys toward their own springs.
According to Nielsen Korea, the ratings survey company, KBS 2TV’s “A Different Romance Than You,” which aired the previous day, concluded with a viewership rating of 2.4% (nationwide standard). Having started at 2.6%, “A Different Romance Than You” struggled to break out of the 1% range for much of its run, but climbed back into the 2% range in its final episode before ending.
In that day’s broadcast, Nam Gong-ho (played by Seo Kang-joon) and Lee Mi-do (played by Ahn Eun-jin) broke up, acknowledging that while they deeply cared for each other, they could not return to how things were. Two years later, after returning from the Paris branch office, Nam Gong-ho once again approached Park Su-a (played by Jo A-ram), whom he had never been able to forget. Lee Mi-do initiated a new love by kissing Han Tae-seung (played by Lee Ju-an), who was seeking certainty.
However, an unfinished farewell remained. Nam Gong-ho and Lee Mi-do took a final trip to the Gangneung sea where they first met 29 years ago. At the place where resentment and guilt had begun, the two reflected on their past lives and thoroughly cleared away all remnants of their lingering emotions. They acknowledged the time when meeting each other brought them suffocating happiness, allowing them to live more diligently, and bid farewell with smiles. The episode’s ending was represented by a drawing of middle-school-aged Lee Mi-do from a comic book left behind by Nam Gong-ho, along with a flower pot.
“Moonmu” will air as the follow-up program to “A Different Romance Than You.” “Moonmu” is a drama depicting the stories of leaders who risked everything for victory amidst 600 years of war and internal upheaval within the Three Kingdoms, with its first broadcast scheduled for 9:20 p.m. on the 14th.
