The so-called “golden age” of movies and TV has officially devolved into a soulless cesspool of rehashed IPs, sequels, and remakes. But hey, who am I to resist the allure of the latest soulless cash-grab? I mean, who wouldn’t want to waste their time watching yet another lackluster attempt at rebooting a classic?

Take the new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, for instance. Because what’s more exciting than watching two has-been superheroes try to salvage their careers by teaming up with each other? And who wouldn’t want to see Tyler Mane reprise his role as Sabretooth, a character so inconsequential he’s only good for a few minutes of screen time? It’s not like we’re missing out on any original storytelling or character development here.

And don’t even get me started on the new Batman voice actor, Hamish Linklater, who’s trying to fill the massive shoes left by the late Kevin Conroy. I mean, who needs originality when you can just nod to the past and hope nobody notices? And what’s with the stellar cast of Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung, and Diedrich Bader? Are they trying to distract us from the fact that this is just another tired rehashing of the same old Bat-tropes?

But hey, at least we have the new trailer for Nosferatu, which promises to deliver a grim and atmospheric retelling of the classic silent horror film. Because what’s more exciting than watching vampires and Nazis in a desolate, black-and-white world? It’s not like we’re getting any real innovation or creativity here, just the same old tired tropes rehashed for the umpteenth time.

And then there’s Hugh Grant, who’s somehow managed to become the go-to guy for playing weird, offbeat characters. Who wouldn’t want to watch him play a creepy, eccentric millionaire in Heretic, a movie that’s somehow trying to pass off its lack of originality as “edgy” and “daring”? It’s not like we’re getting any real depth or complexity here, just the same old tired stereotypes and caricatures.

So, to sum it up, the latest batch of trailers is a complete and utter waste of time. But hey, who am I to resist the allure of yet another soulless, cynical attempt at cashing in on our nostalgia and love of familiar franchises? Bring it on, I guess.
