Indian condom peddler Durex India has been caught pants down, literally, after leaking the intimate details of its customers – including their most private information – for anyone to see.

In a shocking example of reckless negligence, the company failed to even bother with the most basic security measures, exposing customers’ full names, phone numbers, email addresses, shipping addresses, and purchasing history on its website.

A security researcher, no doubt horrified by the sheer audacity of Durex’s incompetence, pointed out the blunder and TechCrunch has independently verified the allegations. And get this – despite being made aware of the situation, Durex’s parent company Reckitt has chosen to keep mum on the matter, refusing to comment or provide any assurance that customers’ personal info is safe.

For a company peddling what’s supposed to be a product of intimacy and discretion, one would think they’d understand the gravity of keeping customers’ secrets. Alas, it appears their only priority is raking in the cash – even if that means putting customers’ privacy in jeopardy.

Worst part? The researcher warned that this security lapse could result in identity theft, harassment, and god knows what other kind of unpleasantness for the affected customers.

When approached for comment, Durex’s spokesperson – or rather, their cowardly PR minion – had the unmitigated gall to decline to comment. Because, clearly, they’re hoping the world will just forget this little “mistake” ever happened.
