My neighbor flooded their bathroom and damaged our place – how does renters insurance work here??

My family lives in a townhouse with shared walls. Well, my neighbor left their faucet on in their tub and flooded their place which resulted in water damage to the wall in our kitchen, which shares a wall with their bathroom above it. I reached out to my insurance and was told that the neighbor is responsible. Well, neighbor just had an adjuster to their place to give them an estimate but never looked at the damage in my place. Who’s responsibility is this? I shouldn’t be financially liable for her dumb ass leaving her faucets open during a water outage and then leaving her home. What steps do I need to take to not get screwed in this situation and get this taken care of? Do I have to go thru my insurance even tho I’m not at fault? Do it get an estimate for repair of my place, hand it to neighbor and tell them their insurance needs to take care of it?

Cherry on top: neighbor is the child of the person who used to run this housing complex, so the maintenance here is trying to tell me that *they’ll* fix my wall, but won’t give me any info or a timeline. I feel like I’m getting screwed over here.
